Specialist service: petfluencer campaigns in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
Petfluencers are pet influencers: creators whose channels revolve around their own animal – and whose community is made up almost entirely of pet owners. We're a German agency specialised in exactly this format. For pet food and pet care brands entering or growing in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, we select the right German-speaking creators by community fit and animal welfare criteria, brief them, and secure the usage rights so the content can run as paid ads afterwards.

Examples from the pet industry. Which campaign ran for which brand and what came out of it is something we discuss in the intro call: we don't share individual clients' results publicly – and we won't share yours either.

I plan your campaign with you personally. Send us a short note on what you have in mind – you'll hear from us within 24 hours.
We don't rate creators by follower count, but by the make-up of their community, their engagement rate and their fit with the product category. Just as important: the animal welfare check. We don't book channels that uncritically showcase breeds with health-impairing traits (Qualzucht) – for example, breeds with known problems such as brachycephaly presented without comment. A 2022 survey by Welttierschutzgesellschaft e. V. found problematic content on 35 of 50 petfluencer profiles reviewed, 30 of them with an uncritical portrayal of such breeding. That's exactly the risk we rule out in advance.
Mainly Instagram and TikTok, plus YouTube depending on the target group. The platform follows from audience and format – not the other way round.
The creator, as a rule. Which usage rights the brand receives – for its own website, say, or to run the content as a paid ad – is agreed in the contract and paid for separately. That's exactly why this topic belongs at the start of the negotiation, not the end.
It depends on the goal: organically through reach, engagement and community reactions – and when the content is reused as a paid ad, through clicks, conversions and revenue directly in the ad account. We define what success is measured by before the campaign starts.
There's no fixed number – it depends on goal and budget. In practice, a few carefully selected creators with the right community almost always beat a long list of random names.
We work on the brand side, but we maintain a fixed pool of creators for our campaigns. If you want to become a petfluencer, send us your channel and reach by email – we'll get in touch as soon as a campaign fits your community.
We've written this up in detail in our article Becoming a petfluencer: how to build an account brands want to work with (in German).
1
We check creators not by follower count, but by community make-up, engagement rate and fit with the product category. A channel with 15,000 engaged dog owners regularly beats one with 150,000 mixed followers. Dog and cat channels also work differently: dog channels live on walks and training, cat channels on indoor routines and comedy – mix that up in the briefing and you miss the format.
2
We negotiate fees, formats and usage rights – especially the rights to reuse the content as a paid ad later. Those are paid for separately and belong in the contract from day one.
3
We set the hook, structure and call to action; tone and execution stay with the creator – otherwise the post loses exactly the credibility it was booked for. Ad disclosure is fixed in the briefing: in Germany, paid cooperations must be clearly labelled as advertising ("Werbung" or "Anzeige"). The briefing also sets which product claims the creator may make – nutrition yes, disease-related claims no, as EU feed law requires.
4
After publication we evaluate – and run the strongest content as a paid ad with the agreed usage rights, with full access to targeting and measurement in the ad account.
There's no honest flat rate – costs depend on four factors, which we calculate transparently up front:
Before we start, you get a cost breakdown that itemises each of these points – no package prices with hidden line items. Current rate ranges are in our article What petfluencer marketing costs in 2026 (in German).
Case: petfluencer campaign
For a raw pet food brand we selected four petfluencers who matched the brand's target group – what mattered was not the biggest reach, but the closest community bond. Over three months, the four creators' campaigns together generated more than €150,000 in new-customer revenue.
We don't name the brand here because it operates in a competitive market. In a personal conversation, with our client's consent, we can go into detail – including selection criteria and figures.
If you're looking for a petfluencer agency, you've probably already noticed there are three routes – and none of them is right for every brand. Here's when each one makes sense.
No agency fee, but it costs time: research, first contact, price negotiation, briefing, follow-ups, clearing rights. For a single cooperation a year this is the cheapest route, and we'll tell you so. Once several creators run in parallel, the maths flips – not because of cost, but because coordination falls behind and campaigns slip. From outside the German-speaking market, add the language barrier on top.
Databases give you reach figures and a booking system. What they don't give you: a judgement on whether a community really consists of pet owners, whether the channel fits your product and whether the content is clean from an animal welfare perspective. For standardised campaigns that works. In the pet category it's risky, because exactly these three questions decide between success and a misfire.
Makes sense if you work with creators regularly, if the content is meant to run as paid ads afterwards, or if the risk of a mismatched cooperation is too high for you. The premium over doing it yourself pays off through the selection, not the execution – one misfire costs more than the retainer.
We'll tell you in the intro call which of the three routes fits you. Even if it's the one where we don't earn anything.
Whether you work with us or someone else – ask these six questions before you sign:
This page is only about pet creators. We also work with creators from other fields – what we do there is on our influencer marketing page (in German).
Also not a fit: a one-off cooperation with a single creator and no further plan. That doesn't justify the overhead of an agency, and we'd rather say so before than after.
And if your product can't be shown – if there's nothing an animal actually does or eats on camera – then petfluencer marketing isn't your lever. Then we'd rather talk about ads.
